Ok, now that BFBC2 is on PC now, and Snowman has it.
Is there anyone else in our group that has it?
It's on sale in my area cheap, so Rwat and I are thinking about buying it. Snow, can you give me a laundry list of stuff you like or don't like about BC2? Is it worth messing with?
I heard the BF3 was supposed to be released soon, but it turns out it won't be released till 7/15/2011. I don't wanna wait that long. |

Well only thing i dont like is the bunny hoping around, does not happen much but it is there.
Also there is alot of rocket shooting, RPG, and M2 Gust. rocket laucher is a best against infantry.
There is no Prone option in the game, takes a little to get used to it, but it stops the hole diving on the ground bullshit.
Good thing about it is the total destructible environment. Well besides you can knife fences and knock them down.
But for the most part the game is decent, you have good graphics and you can blow everthing up. It well just take time to reagainst to the Run&Gun gameplay.

How many members are in a squad and do they have VOIP like in BF2? The voip stuff was sorta screwed in the closed beta. I kind of liked playing the closed beta that you gave us keys for. To bad it stopped. I wish they had a PC demo so I could check out the Conquest mode. Probably the same as BF2 right? What's the max players?
As you can tell, I'm lookin for something fun and easy to play:) The ARMA 2 bots are causing me to pull my hair out:) |

| It's pretty fun, though don't expect a whole lot of teamwork involved since everyone is busy padding their K : D ratios. Medics with LMGs = bad idea and the game is sooooooooooooooooooooooo bright in certain areas, it's hard to see from far. The whole bullet drop thing takes time to get used to as well. |

| Bullet drop huh? Well at least they tried to inject some realism. Lol on the stat padders. Don't ya just hate those guys? With 32 players you would think that they would understand that team work is more important than ever. Does kinda such that they went to 4 man squads. Was hoping they would go up to 8 man squads. |

| Well it's the entire gaming industries' fault. They are primarily making games for the consoles and then porting it to PC, hence the 32 player (or lower) server limit compared to previous games. Hell even Modern Warfare 2 and Medal of Honor have 18 and 24 players max on a server. PC games are being shafted. |

| Don't be fooled into only looking at player caps. Games like MW2 are designed to be quick and dirty. Multiplayer maps look nice, and play well, but only because of their relatively small size. The maps are designed to be small. Have you tried playing on a full server? Its crazy! Raising the player maximum on PC wouldn't be servicing us at all. In fact, it would lead to an overall worse experience than what we would already be getting. That is, a crazy and extremely hectic game where you only stay alive for <5 seconds before being shot from any number of angles. ArmA2 maps on a console? Please. That's why games that warrant big numbers of players are only on PC. |

Lots of players; that's what we want! When I'm looking for a FPS game I do it with TF21 in mind. Whenever I look at a multi-player FPS, I always consider how many of our guys we can get on at once.
Personally I really enjoyed those times in PR when we could get 12 or more TF21 guys on a team. I enjoy when we can all login together and get some teamwork going. I suppose the "teamwork" and the comrade is what does it for me.
For me the game is just a platform for us to hang out have some laughs, and of course blow shit up. All from the safety of our homes:) hehehe.... But if a game can't support that it becomes a fairly limited platform. At least in my eyes, anyway:) That's why I want games that support LOTS and LOTS of players online at once. Even ARMA can't do that. BF2 was on the right track when they came out with 64 players, but since that time is seems the multi-player games have gone backwards. |

Don't be so sure. The big maps for CoD4 (designed and made for the community, by the community. Unlike MW2...) actually had improved gameplay. It wasn't all spam fest and pew pew boom boom that MW2 is. The fact that Infinity Ward neglected to even include dedicated servers and modding tools still pisses myself and a large portion of the PC community. Because of that, mods, maps, nor community events cannot be run and must be dictated by their matchmaking system.
Hell, even BC2 has some medium to large maps to fit at least 18 or 20 players per side. If only EA released a map maker, there could be loads of larger maps. Medal of Honor on the other hand, some maps are small like MW2's and some maps designed for certain modes (like the Combat Mission/Rush mode) can feature more than 12 players a side.
The point is, PC games in general are becoming ports for gaming companies who are solely focusing on consoles and the actual potential for games like Modern Warfare 2 is lost. Not to mention consoles could barely run more than 16 people on a side shows that the games are made specifically with consoles as the primary platforms. Only Massive for PS3 shows consoles being able to support 16+ players on the servers but even then that doesn't prove much.
P.S. You couldn't do half of the things in ArmA 2 with an Xbox360/PS3 controller, not to mention ArmA 2 is one of the few that is simply made for PC. |
